New VP Statement:

February 3, 2002

 Hi!

Thanx for stopping in to the website!  This has been a very busy time after a long hiatus from any real work with our issues.  But, now that the holidays are behind us, we dig in once again while the City’s Peer Review group, headed up by Eastern Research Group, Inc., is preparing for the day-long meeting on February 6th at the Hyatt in downtown Buffalo that will decide the fate of the conclusions drawn by the NYSDOH.  (has anyone else noticed that the anagram for this agency reads like a Homer Simpson exclamation?  “DOH!!!!”)

At any rate, after discussions with Jan Connery at ERG, we have put together a comment response to the peer review process putting our 2 cents in.  Luckily for science, the peer review scientists (there are three of them) have decided to include the UB Environmental Science Institutes review and incorporate that work into their review.  Personally, I think that was very wise of them, since the fine folks at UBESI were very thorough in their work.

At long last, I have finally scanned in the DOH Health Consultation, The UB ESI Review of that document and our own response to this process.  See the links on the Home page.   If you don’t have the ability to read .pdf files, go to www.adobe.com and download the free acrobat reader.  This is a very handy application to have, and I suspect any of you who do a good bit of web-surfing, especially looking at government docs online, already have this reader.

Also, I am VERY excited to report that, coming soon will be the videotape from the illegal 1993 excavation that you may have heard existed.  This is fine footage taken by our own Rose Whitney!  I still have some editing to do, but it is in digital format, so its just a matter of making the files manageable for the web.  Look for it soon!!

I will also be updating as soon as the review is complete, so, come back soon!

Chuck
