MAYERSBACH / MAYERSBACK

Mary Ann MAYERSBACH was born 1849 in Southwark (London), Surrey, England, to Charles MAYERSBACH and Harriet Eliza WRIGHT. In 1866 at St. Peter's Church in Walworth, Surrey, Mary Ann MAYERSBACH married Willliam WOOTTON, born abt 1844 in Southwark. They had two sons: Charles Alfred WOOTTON and Joseph Wright WOOTTON. Mary Ann (Mayersbach) Wootton LAW is said to have received a pension from the Crown after her LAW husband's death. Mary Ann is descended from Alexander von MAYERSBACH who emigrated to England from Germany in the 1700's. If any of this sounds familiar, please contact me! OAKLEY

The info I have for this OAKLEY family comes from an obituary published in the Attica News for Catherine (nee OAKLEY) TORPY who died on 20 Jul 1898. He worked for the Railroad, as did his father, James TORPY b 1825 in Ireland.

According to the obit, Catherine's mother, Mrs. OAKLEY, came and stayed with her before she died. The obit did not mention her father who might have been deceased or divorced, but did mention her husband Michael TORPY, their two small children Mary Frances TORPY and Vincent James TORPY, and numerous siblings.
