God knew there would be times
When you'd need a helping hand
To help you through the rough times
As you roam this Earthly land

God knew you'd need someone
To brush away the tears
That your eyes will cry in sorrow
To bring you hope and good cheer
And the strength to face tomorrow

God knew your weary heart
Would sometimes feel much pain
He knew that from the start
You'd experience much disdain

God knew you'd need some comfort
When all but love remains
He sent an angel as your buffer
To help ease some of your pain

God knew you'd need a willing ear
To share all your dreams and fears
A haven from the storm
And a comforter through the years

God knew to send an Angel
To bask you in his world of love
Until he himself can hold you
In heaven up above
