BuffNET Setup Instructions for:
WebTV
Although the WebTV system does support a 'typical' ISP connection
through a program called "OpenISP", it also has some significant
differences from standard computers. Due to the WebTV console's
design and operation BuffNET cannot offer any hardware technical
support beyond this document.
Technically speaking your WebTV system would
be one of two models:
WebTV (Classic)
The first year version
33,600 (33.6kbps) modems
No External Ports
No 'upgrades' available for it's internal system
WebTV Plus
Newer / Current Version
56,000 (56kbps) Kflex modem
Several external ports including Printer Port
Uses an internal hard drive to allow for system updates
Either system will be able to work with BuffNET's systems through
the OpenISP plan.
