An error message occurs when I attempt to connect stating "Dial-Up
Networking was unable to negotiate
a compatible set of network protocols..."
Solution 2:
To check if your dialer is set correctly, please try the following:
Windows 95 / 98
-
Open <MY COMPUTER> - <DIAL-UP NETWORKING>
-
Right-Click on your BuffNET dial-up icon - then click
on <PROPERTIES>
-
Click on <SERVER TYPE>
-
There should be only one check mark in this window - TCP/IP.
If you have any other check marks, click them off.
-
Click <OK> all the way out and test your connection
again.
Windows ME
-
Click <START> - <SETTINGS> - <DIAL-UP
NETWORKING>
-
Right-Click your BuffNET Dialup icon - then click <PROPERTIES>
-
Click on <NETWORKING>
-
There should be only one check mark in this window - TCP/IP.
If you have any other check marks, click them off.
-
Click <OK> all the way out and test your connection
again.
