BuffNET Setup Instructions for:
MS-Windows XP
MS-Windows XP uses Dial-Up Networking (DUN) to establish a networking
(PPP) connection. Unlike the previous editions of MS-Windows (9x
/ ME / NT), XP has very few 'user serviceable' settings inside.
Should you encounter a problem with your connection to BuffNET,
the first good solution is simply to create a new dial-up connection.
Note: Some people have encountered problems upgrading
from MS-Windows 9x / ME to MS-WindowsXP due to hardware incompatibilities.
We at BuffNET strongly urge you to be sure ALL your hardware is
compatible with MS-WindowsXP before upgrading to it. If necessary,
please visit Microsoft's web site at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/upgrading/
default.asp to find out about upgrading your system. (This link
will open in a new window.)

phone number to use. Once you've found what local access number
to use, type it in and click [NEXT]
Below is BuffNET's Telephone number matrix -
last revised March 2002. The local access dialup number will
be dependent on your location and your local dialing area.
Please consult
your telephone book or your local telephone access provider
to see which number is local for you. BuffNET will not be
responsible for any long distance charges that may be incurred
if you choose a non-local number.
